THE '60s

Fan Review by Lissa, April 19, 2009

I enjoyed Jeremy in this, but I didn't care much for the movie overall. The 60s were a very complicated decade, and for the most part, this movie seemed to flit from topic to topic (the war movement, civil rights movement, the "flower children" etc) without much substance. And the end seemed too "neat" to me. I felt like I was watching an episode of the Donna Reed show, where everyone comes together at the end as one big happy family.

It's been a while since I watched it, so this could just be my memory, but am I the only one who didn't think they explained the change in Jeremy's character at the end? Obviously he had become disillusioned about the movement, but it seems like he had become far more extreme without any real explanation. But if I've forgotten something, please refresh my memory.

I thought this was one of those movies that had good intentions but the task was nearly impossible in what must have been a four hour movie, with commercials?
