THE SIXTIES

Fan Review by Monica, Spain, Jan. 9, 2009

The Sixties is a fanstastic miniserie about a the 60s, an interesting decade. I think this is a really vibrant vision about Changes not only in the life of two different families but also in all the American society. It starts with John Kennedy in the White House and during 3 hours we see most of the relevant changes in those years: the Civil Rights movements that change racism in USA (a marvellous Charles Dutton plays one of my favorite character in The Sixties), the younger generations begin to rebel against conservative rules (Julia Stiles dances Chubby´s Checker song and the nun disaproved it at the begining), and the Vietnam War (Brian changes dramatically after spend some years fighting there) and how people move against it.

I also enjoyed the awesome soundtrack. It was fantastic and quite representative. I enjoyed the evolution of the characters and how they grow up along those years. I liked the role of a rebel Kathy and the commintment of his brother Michael. I enjoyed the dignity and the faith of rev Taylor.

I really loved The 60s. It was nice, entertaining and informative. It worths a vision and I recommend it not only for all Sisto fans (he did a small but intense role) but also for everybody who likes how those facts helped people to change the world.

6/10.
