SIX FEET UNDER

SEASON 3

EPISODE 2: YOU NEVER KNOW

This episode has the most violent and horrifying opening deaths, four to be exact, of the entire series, and the circumstances surrounding the event lead David and Rico into a bitter disagreement.

Lisa and Nate argue over the safety in cleaning Maya's ears with Q-Tips. I think Nate is just being protective. I think Lisa's being careful. I think they're both being ridiculous.

Ruth's sister Sarah calls her asking her to pick up some vicodin at the pharmacy. When Ruth arrives in Topanga Canyon, she is greeted by Bettina (Kathy Bates), a friend of Sarah's who is determined to help Sarah kick a very bad habit, no matter what!

Keith goes to therapy without David, and really opens up about the "little" things that bug him about his husband. David is thrilled about being in the Gay Men's Chorus. Later, D and K go to Nate and Lisa's place (actually it's Carol Ward's home) for a BBQ, where Keith is horrified to learn that there are no secrets. David tells Nate, who tells Lisa, everything. Lisa asks about couple's therapy and then claims that she and Nate never fight. So self righteous.

And puh-leeze, who in the hell goes to the toilet, especially in a home that isn't theirs, and doesn't flush???!!! What if Keith did have to go #2???!!! You're not supposed to flush??? Hey, if you can't handle the baby getting woken up by a toilet, move the baby to a different room!!!

Back at Fisher & Diaz, Rico preps the bodies left behind by the office massacre, and is unable to assert his self-righteousness in their "company". He begins to wonder if truly, anyone can snap if they've been pushed too far. Later, though, he is still as sanctimonious as ever as he tries to preach at David how "if they had raised their son right, blah blah blah..." A HUGE THANK YOU TO DAVID for putting Rico in his place!!!

Okay, why buy the damn Tide??? God, Lisa, get a life!!! You're killing me, not to mention you're probably killing Nate. He is already lying to Lisa, saying he's got lots of work to do, when he is so sick of her squawking that he prefers the peaceful sunporch TV. I'm with him.

Claire learns that she is not Phil's only lady friend, and she pretends to be okay with it. She might even believe she's okay with it, but the truth is way down deep and she will dig it out later on.

Ruth and Bettina bond over Sarah's vicodin addiction, as they enjoy a hammock, a pretty mountain evening, some wine, and a little of Sarah's favorite stuff.

Another good episode, shaping the course of the season. I'll give it an A.
