SEASON FOUR
EPISODE 6: TERROR STARTS AT HOME
A couple looks as though they are simply packing garbage bags full of unwanteds to take out to the curb, but instead, they are robbing someone's home. The victim, tied in a chair, is murdered "In Cold Blood" style. Probably the most evil and chilling death so far.
It is four days after David was victimized by the psycho he stopped to help. Keith is worried about David's reluctance to tell his family the worst details of the attack.
Nate obviously wants the most leisurely, stress-free existence possible, so he takes a job at a doggy day-care place, and meets a woman named Maile.
Ruth prods at David, trying to make sense of something that won't make sense no matter what. Poor Ruth, she means well...
Joe and Brenda are looking into buying their dream house, but little does Joe know that Brenda is already reacting to her fear of committment and her fear of being happy.
Sick people like me will rejoice as Rico stuff's the robbery victim's empty skull with cotton. I can't help it. Human anatomy is so facinating.
Anita has moved in with Claire, and their friend Edie conspires with Claire about an art project in the mall.
Ruth and George attend one of his acedemic functions, and Ruth overhears a woman talking about George in the way that suggests she and George were an item not all that long ago. Uh oh!
With David's birthday coming up, Rico leaves a message on Sophia's machine to cancel their evening together, but wait, it wasn't Sophia's, it was his own machine at home. Good thing Rico isn't juggling more than 2 women. He's confused as it is.
Claire and her art buddies try a new drug, dip into paint, and sing. Anita, Jimmy and Russell enjoy several threesome episodes (Okay, ewww?!) and Claire begins to feel unfamiliar feelings toward lesbian Edie.
She joins David's party late. She's high, David's depressed, and Vanessa's fuming because Ruth has told her that Sophia stopped by looking for Rico. To top off this outstandingly bad gathering, Ruth totally makes an ass of herself over George's "nostril" pot. Oh yeah, and Jimmy bursts in on the dinner in his undies.
Later Edie and Claire take photos out on the front lawn, and Claire finds herself confused by her growing attraction to Edie.
I forgot one important scene, my favorite! David has had a panic attack. Claire and David have several wonderful scenes together this season, and in this episode, David painfully reveals details to Claire about the man who terrorized him. I will never stop loving scenes between these siblings. They keep reinforcing the fact that the Fishers are one of the most wonderful families ever created.
Claire feels compelled to talk Nate into returning to work. Fortunately, Nate harkens to her.
Vanessa confronts Rico about Sophia. Incredibly donning an innocent countenance, Rico boldly lies to his wife about the circumstances in which he "met" the other woman. Still Vanessa isn't quite buying it. Rico blames her depression without saying it in those words, when, in my opinion, he should have been blaming her allowing An-Hell-I-Ca to stay with them and the stress that came with it.
Brenda pays Nate another visit, having decided that she can't change the behavioral patterns that are ingrained in her. And of course, she and Nate have sex.
I'm not quite sure of the meanings of some of the titles for these episodes. TERROR STARTS AT HOME is one that especially escapes me. Not too bad an episode though. My grade is B.
