CAESAR

This was a fabulous miniseries that won my heart a few years ago. For once, Julius caesar is portrayed with heart and honesty, and Sisto gives a most brilliant performance, one of his very best. His Brit accent was a wee bit wobbly, but convincing and well-trained withal. I was captivated by the frailty of him, hence the phrase from a magazine article I read, "Frail Caesar." As played by the magnificent Richard Harris, Sulla was effectively menacing, a perfect villain. Also enjoyed Valeria golino as Calpurnia, Caesar's wise and patient wife, and Heino Ferch as the noble and fearless Gaul warrior. This mini is underrated, it's very high quality production, with a feast of visuals for costume design and set design. Great acting too by the way!
