Being a fan of horror movies, I rented this movie in 90s. The suggestive plot and Jeff Goldblum were enough points to do it. A family has a fatal car accident and the father dies. A doctor who is working with an experimental treatment can reanimate him miracilously. But the man is not the only "patient" who has being treated with his innovating drugs, and he soon feels he is connected to a serial killer. He can feel and see what this dangerous man does and tries to discover what is happening.
Jeremy Sisto, who plays Vassago, did a good performance. It was one of the first dark and creepy roles. He is great showing vulnerability and roughness and you can see it quite well here. The scene when Regina (Alicia Silverstone), the rebel daughter of the couple and Vassago first meet is brilliant. She knows he would be a dangerous guy but she is attracted to him.
Hideaway is based on a Dean Koontz´s novel. It's a correct adaptation but novel was superior in my opinion. I particularly don't like the "happy" ending of the movie but the movie is a good horror movie.
In a nutshell: The story is not only about the eternal fight between Good and Evil, but also it's about the desperation of two parents trying to save their children.
