HIDEAWAY

Fan Review by Anja Bohn, Oct. 2007

A great thrill. What happens when you die?

I'm a huge fan of writers such as Stephen King and Dean R. Koontz - this movie is based on a novel written by the latter, and I must say, that I was definately not disappointed by the result.

Two very tragic stories lie behind the plot and they get increasingly intertwined. The movie raises the question: "What happens when you die?". It suggests, that it is possible to take more with you back to life that what you brought with you into death. That is exactly what happens to Jeff Goldblum's character Hatch Harrison, and this causes him to appear more and more possessed - amounting to the insane. Jeff Goldblum delivers a fantastic performance and so does Jeremy Sisto in the part of the movie's ultimate bad guy. He is absolutely psychopathic and fiendish evil. Furthermore, he is the link between the past and the present tragic stories, I mentioned in the beginning.

This movie is really well put together. There is a great charged plot and a cast of absolutely wonderful actors. It's a very intense, dark, terrifying and devilish movie. A great thrill!
