Identity Of Body In Halloween Rampage Eludes Authorities
By Waldo L. Dorkamaymee
Law enforcement officials in Orange and Los Angeles County are still
trying to give a name to the seventh and final body in a grisly
murder spree that took place Halloween night.
The body was discovered in the apartment of May Canady, 25, a
resident of Tustin. Canady's body was beside the unidentified body,
and all clues point to Canady as the killer of the six people in this
case.
The unidentified victim was first presumed to be female named Amy.
The name "Amy" was spelled out in clay letters across the area where
the body's head used to be. Missing persons' reports from all
surrounding counties reveal nobody named Amy listed. Coroners from
both counties involved have been contending whether or not the body
is female, as the shoulders appear to be rather broad. However,
tissue samples from the neck do not match those of the severed head
that was found in Canady's freezer.
The severed head was in fact identified as 25 year old Jimmy Blank of
Hollywood. Blank was a prostitute with an extensive arrest record
dating back to his teens. Acquaintances of Blank state that he had
been living in Hollywood since running away from home at age 16. He
had served time as a juvenile for petty theft, possession of
marijuana and heroin, and vandalism.
