MOONLIGHT & VALENTINO

Fan Review by Darla, April 26, 2009

There were a lot of likable things about this film, but all too often I found myself drifting away, involved in a second diversion like a magazine or something. Whenever Jeremy was onscreen was the most interesting of the movie. Gwyneth Paltrow plays a cute part but I foun it hard to buy her as a virgin since she's so tall and attractive mostly. Just get rid of the dreary wardrobe and she could have any guy at her fingertips. I was surprised she didn't dye her hair black too. She was kind of snitty to her stepmom, but her stepmom is pretty out there, so I honestly couldn't really blame Lucy. One question I had was why didn't Jon Bon Jovi have a name in this? Just "the painter" who weird!

Mostly the film was too slow and boring for me. I kept starting it over and even my husband was saying why don't you just give up it's boring! Yes mostly it was very slow. Especially when the women were together. their conversations go nowhere special and break no special ground and it's supposed to be a movie about things women care about.

Jeremy plays a college student who meets Lucy through her sister, who teaches modern poetry. some of his poetry is LOL bad but the character is actually one of the more likable ones in the film. Only when lucy meets him does she quit being such a gloom and doomer. i mean your mom died when you were a kindergartner, move on!

I guess I would give this a C+ for at least the effort, but it's just not very exciting a film.
