This looks like a very unsettling and well-acted film about two young teens who lose their innocence as soon as they arrive in the big city, and end up as prostitutes. The cast includes Tamara Hope, Riley McClendon, Tom Sizemore, Max Perlich and Jeremy Sisto.

UPDATE 12/11/08: Sources at Pretty Dangerous Films and Rivercoast Film Distribution now say that THE NICKEL CHILDREN is being released to DVD in the USA in March/April 2009. Thanks to Mari for the info!

UPDATE 04/26/08: Mari wrote to Pretty Dangerous Films and was told that we can expect a DVD release in late June, early July 2008. So the July 22 date on some of the DVD shops might change again.

UPDATE 03/15/08: I don't know how accurate this info is, but several DVD retail sites are now saying that the release date has been pushed up to July 2008. Amazon still has the date at 03/25/08, but sites such as DVDEmpire are now saying 07/22/08. I guess we'll know the truth in 10 more days! Argh!!!

UPDATE 01/08/08: I am hoping that this distribution company I found today is the current one and that it means THE NICKEL CHILDREN will be out soon. It is called Rivercoast Films and it had recently joined with Cinequest Distribution (Nov. 2007). More info as it becomes available.

UPDATE 11/02/07: Pretty Dangerous Films is saying that the DVD is slated for a February 2008 release!!!

UPDATE 10/25/07: Ryan at Pretty Dangerous Films posted on the film's imdb board earlier this month, saying a Fall 2007 release is pending. I certainly hope so...this film looks terrific!!!

UPDATE 03/12/07: Wrote to Pretty Dangerous Films and got a reply that the distribution is finalizing and that the film may be out this summer. I also have emailed a site under the name of Rogue Arts, but don't know if that site is anything to do with the film's supposed April '07 release described below.

UPDATE 12/11/06: Finally found a little blurb from the MethodFest site that says that THE NICKEL CHILDREN is slated for theatrical release next year.
