Now You Know

Review by Gabe, Collider.com

This is the first movie by Jeff Anderson (better know as Randal in the Kevin Smith Clerks films). Anderson, taking a cue from his mentor, is the writer, director and second lead actor in this film. Now You Know is the story of Jeremy, played by Jeremy Sisto (Six Feet Under) and Kerri played by Rashida Jones (The Office) and their trip back home to New Jersey for their wedding, but their wedding has been called off. What follows is each of them explaining to each of their sets of best friends what happened.

This movie plays like a first time writer, director’s movie, at times funny and smart and at other times predictable and amateurish. The casting of the movie is better than most with Heather Paige Kent (That’s Life) as Kerri’s hot best friend with a penchant for teasing Kerri’s thirteen year old brother and Trevor Fehrman (Clerks II) as Biscuit the Hammy the squirrel to best friends Anderson and Sisto. Like a Kevin Smith movie you get clever jokes, lots of Jersey flair and a little tenderness.

Also like a Kevin Smith movie you get lots of extra commentary that includes:

Feature commentary with Kevin Smith and Director Jeff Anderson

An extended introduction to the film by Kevin Smith and Director Jeff Anderson

A Q&A with the filmmakers

All of these extras flow like a conversation in your house with the guys.

All in all I would have to say that this is one of the better first efforts by a writer director and brings enough laughs to make you want to see Jeff Anderson’s next film.
