I bought Now You Know based upon the recommendation of the Clerks 2 box set. There was a coupon in the box for $3 off this movie that's presented by Kevin Smith. It's written and directed by Jeff Anderson, better known as Randal from Clerks.
The story is about Jeremy, played by Jeremy Sisto (Elton from Clueless) and his fiancee, Kerri, played by Rashida Jones (Karen, from The Office). They are flying back to New Jersey for their wedding, the problem is she has called it off and he has no idea why. I really empathized with this clueless guy, especially when her maid of honor, Marty (Heather Paige Kent) meets them in the airport and knees him in the crotch despite his protests that Kerri was the one that called it off, retorts "It must have been something you did!"
Then we meet Biscuit (Trevor Fehrman) and Gil (Jeff Anderson) who are Jeremy's screw up Jersey friends. Gil owns a lawn service and his only employee is Biscuit. They drink beer all night and day, mowing lawns and whistling at grade school girls when they walk by. There is a particularly humorous scene when they meet up with Jeremy at the bar after a shortened work day, where Jeremy is coerced into hitting on a girl by his two concerned friends.
We then see Kerri and Marty discussing their problems, and we find out that Kerri is upset because she feels Jeremy has taken her for granted and the "never in a serious relationship" Marty is pregnant. We also humorously discover that Kerri's little brother Cliff (Brendan Hill) has a crush on Marty and she enjoys messing with his puberty-addled mind. (Which leads to a hilarious boob-grope scene later in the movie.)
It's an independent movie, the budget was small and doesn't sport many polished scenes, but as with most independent films the focus is on the characters and the story. It's a hilarious movie, a great story and doesn't bog down in pace or by being pretentious.
