All in all I thought Some Girl was a good movie. I think I liked it because, for me it was so relate able. I could see parts of me in April and Claire.
April's character has a problem with herself. She doesn't like herself, she doesn't respect herself. In the long run keeps testing Neil to see how far she can push him before he will leave her. She wants Neil around but doesn't feel she's good enough for him. So she fall into this world where she feels in the only sort of life she deserves.
Claire wants to find love and be loved. She is tired of getting hurt. She puts so much into her relationships and gets nothing but a broken heart out of it. Out of the depths comes revenge only a wounded soul can rely on.
Jason, what can I say? I loved this guy. He was so funny, but serious. He was so honest with his feelings and thoughts. How could you not like this sweet guy? I'd have to say he was my favorite.
I felt bad for Neil. He really loved April. He was understanding with everything. He cared so much and wanted to be there for April. Do guys like him really exist? He was too good for April, but he loved HER for her.
Chad, what a player. How many girls do you suppose he got in bed so far? Truth be told his sweet talking and smooth way would have gotten me too. And that smile to die for. In the end I would have hated him too. Jeremy did a great job with this character.
The scrabble game was awesome with some note able celebrity appearances such as Christopher Jaymes, (who is in many other movies with Jeremy) and Mike O'Malley(Best known for his role as Jimmy in CBS's Yes Dear). I loved it. It kept the movie from being too serious in the love area.
For me this movie spoke out. I think it was more realistic than other finding love movies, or lack there of. I think the shell of the movie was just another been there done that sort of movie. But the depth was something that will reach anyone. There are a variety of characters in this movie. One that relates to almost anyone in some way.
As for Jeremy he was superb with his character. He was so easy to fall in love with (those dark eyes didn't hurt either) and then to "hate" him for what he did to Claire. He looks really good with short hair, then again Jeremy looks good with any type of hair.
As a rating I'd give this movie 3*** stars. It isn't the best or the worst.
