SUICIDE KINGS

Fan Review by Ingo

Mostly this is a good film. The only thing I absolutely didn't like is Dennis Leary. It's not that I dislike him all of the time. In the right setting, he can be very funny. I especially enjoy his old No Cure Of Cancer comedies. He always uses the F word in excess but in the right place he is funny.

The problem with him in Suicide Kings is that the film interrupts the flow of the story concerning the five boys and the mafioso they have kidnapped for ransom, and suddenly, for no apparent reason, Dennis Leary is there on screen rambling about his shark shoes and using the F word over an over again. It isn't funny and has nothing to do with the main story. I found it completely "pointless" in the words of T.K. (Sisto's character). It drives me crazy when I am enjoying the dialogue of Christopher Walken and the young boys and suddenly Leary is yapping with the F word. Why? Most of Leary's earlier scenes of this film are stupid and irritating but later when he finally locates Charlie and the boys who took him, his character becomes much more fun. In fact, when he outsmarts the boys he gets to be pretty cool.

I admit I don't like so much profanity, but sometimes I can't help but laugh at some of the lines in this film! Even Leary, who is better later in the film when his character actually has something to do with story. My favorite scene is like Mari, the I have to go peepee scene! What about the 3rd hand? What 3rd!! The one to unzip his fly and pull his dick out! Aim it, please! Very funny movie. Only the stupid Leary scenes were bad.
