Jeremy Sisto and Jaime Pressly starred in this good film about poor people in Florida living in trailers and dreaming of better lives. This film depressed me a lot because I hate the ending. I won't give it away, but it's really sad and makes me wish it had a different outcome.
Sisto plays a disturbed young man who witnesses a gruesome event at the start of the film. It's very disturbing to watch, and no wonder why his character became mentally ill afterward. Before the accident, he was just another rebellious teen who did some things that kids tend to do, but after, he seemed to become more violent and blatant, taunting police, stealing cars, and other terrible acts.
It was hard to feel sorry for the character sometimes, because I hated the violent crazy things he was doing, and he was blaming everyone around him because he could not fight his father who abuses him. But by the end I did feel sorry because his life should not have been so terrible and it was understandable that after his friend died, he just lost it completely. He seemed to have a death wish because he thought he was worthless and going nowhere.
There was some poor acting by some supportive actors and some of the story was confusing (to me) but I liked the film overall because of jeremy Sisto's good performance. The best of the film is when things are quiet, not like at the start or the end with all of the "action" sequence and violence. Jaime Pressly did fine all through the film. I did not like her dad who was a judge, even though he is a good actor. I enjoyed Grace Zabriskie and Veronica Cartwright. Eric Michael Cole was okay but Sisto was better. It was too sad at the end so I don't think I will keep it.
