tsbu was a good movie. It had a few parts that were lacking but mostly it was pretty good. I always thought the scene when Sisto stabbs a guy in the hand with a pen was weird, like it should have only been a dream, like he stabs him and the guy screams but then it gets quiet and it turns out all it is is a dream and sisto decides that he really needs to leave LA. Of course without the pen stabbing scene there would be no scene where sisto agent tells him he's losing it and needs to do punky brewster's reunion show!

I thought it was kind of mellow and even too slow at times, and some sisto character things missing. if he wasn't doing any films lately, what did he do about paying rent? i guess not so important but it bugs me. did his wife have life insurance when she died or what?

they should have left the voiceover in. that might have speed the movie up and filled in some holes. like I don't like it either when you don't learn much about the museum lady that sisto ends up falling for. there are a few deleted scenes in the extras but you still don't learn a lot about her. she is the second most important character in the pic.

Poppy Montgomery is very funny and great in this film, and her character seems to be livlier than anyone's in the story. sisto's character is suposed to be sad and mellow, and not fun. Poppy's is fun, even though she cries once. vinnie v is fun to, and really adds a lot to the story. so does Erik Palladino as sisto's friend who loves porno magazines, porno movies and porno dolls! i read the DVD reviewer saying he was tired of pot smoking budds in these little films, but tsbu came first, before gardens state, as mari says, and peter sarsgaard character with his big old bong was annoying anyway, stealing jewelry from people's graves?! at least erik didn't do that stuff!

all of the characters were great, and the film is really touching. there just seems to be something missing in it. yet it is still pretty emotional at times. I don't think I dislike it as much as I like it. not perfect, but a great film. i try to watch it a few more times to catch more stuff, good or bad.
