Amazing, Profound and Unforgettable
This is a comedy, but not the typical one. The jumping-off point is tragic; a man's (Alex played by Jeremy Sisto) grief over his late wife (played by Vanessa Marcil). 2 years have passed but he hasn't yet recovered from the shock of loosing her and his life is only going downhill. His mind constantly wanders back to the life they shared, and it's only after he leaves Los Angeles and goes back to his native town of San Francisco and meets up with old friends - and a new one - that he begins to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Slowly, his very different friends (played by Poppy Montgomery, Erik Palladino, Alex Kingston and Clara Bellar) makes him focuse on the future instead of the past.
Jeremy Sisto eminently pictures a man in profound grief - completely lost without the great love of his life, yet at the same time there is room for humour and a dawning hope for the possibility of falling in love again someday. This is an amazing movie. Profound and inward-searching at the same time as it is bubbling, humorous and life-affirming. It's an extremely heartfelt and soulful performance by Jeremy Sisto, which has left a deep and unforgettable impression on me.
