This is a film that actually exists in 2 versions, the version that was played in 1999-2000 in festivals, and the version that was released 6 years later on DVD. Consequently, some of the songs in this film had to be replaced before the long-delayed DVD release in November 2006, perhaps due to licensing agreements that expired. Both versions of THIS SPACE BETWEEN US have a lot of wonderful music. From the sophisticated and poignant theme music from Johannes Luley to the ambient jazzy nocturnal sounds of Hopscotch to the trip-hoppy Low Hum Satellite to the folk-rock ballads and youthful voices of Coby Brown, The Bellows, Anne McCue and Jonatha Brooke, the music of this film is the sound of night in San Francisco, and describes young people who are in mourning, for one reason or another.
